An asymmetry in the fast wind has often been dismissed because the high sound speed in the shocked fast wind will wipe out any sign of asymmetry. However, this is only true in the limit of very high sound speed in the bubble.

Frank, Ryu & Davidson (1998) considered an asymmetric BSG wind in models of eta Carinae. Here we consider the standard model for SN 1987A, but with the asymmetry in the BSG wind.
