A Brief History:

Glen Double retired in 1993 after 25 years with IBM where he worked in Research and Development on the physics of integrated circuits, nuclear magnetic resonance, micromagnetics, and with various aspects of computer hardware security. He returned to school to pursue a long-held interest in Astrophysics.
He holds six patents.

Current Activities (as a visiting professor in the North Carolina State University Physics Department):

  1. Research in relativistic shockwaves caused by highly energetic events in space (e.g., gamma-ray bursts)

  2. Teaching Astronomy and Astrophysics

  3. Private tutoring in mathematics and physics (since 1962)
